Kids Art Express is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to foster creativity in children who otherwise may not have access or opportunities for artistic endeavors. I believe that all children should be able to create freely and express themselves through art.
Hello! I'm Sara, a resourceful and creative art teacher working and living in Cambridge. I've always loved making art with children and feel that all young people should have the access to materials and opportunities for art-making. I have worked with children for over 20 years, currently as public school Art Teacher and previously as an After School Director, Preschool Teacher, Camp Counselor, Graphic Artist and Art Program Specialist.
The idea for Kids Art Express was originally sparked back in 2007 while working with children at Peña Blanca in Panajachel, Guatemala. I would dream of ways that I could bring more opportunities to the children there, since they had little opportunity to seek it out. Ultimately, I brought this idea home with me and kept it on the back burner for several years.
To date, Kids Art Express has hosted community events, birthday parties, after school workshops and mostly recently started delivering art supplies to local students during the pandemic.
